Information for participants

Access To Leuven

By car and public transport
- Leuven can easily be reached by car, since it is situated near a number of main motorways (E40 and A2).
- There are good train connections from Brussels, cf below.

From Brussels International Airport Zaventem (when you came by plane)
- By taxi : A taxi takes about 25 min from Brussels Airport To Leuven. A single journey will cost about 2000 BFr.
- By train : first, you will have to take a train to Brussels North (Brussel Noord), and then another one to Leuven.

With respect to the timetables, we can recommend the following webpages:
http://www.ccl.kuleuven.ac.be/~corn/railinfo.html and http://bahn.hafas.de/english.html (offers almost all European timetables).

As Friday is market day in Leuven, we highly recommend you to travel by public transport!
You do want to come by car? Then try the Ladeuze or Center parkings (or a little bit further away, near the railway station, the Supercity parking in the Bondgenotenlaan.).

Accommodation

For a list of hotels, please visit Tourism Leuven, and search for "hotel". You will end up with a list of hotels ... and with some suggestions on what to do in the evening (A night out : Café's and A night out : Restaurants!!). Make your reservation as soon as possible!!

Map of Leuven

On this small map of "our" part of Leuven our centre can be found near the crossroads of Blijde Inkomststraat and Maria-Theresiastraat.

The railway station, in Dutch " station", is to be found at the top of the map (cf. the picture of a train) at the Martelarenplein. To go to the Centre for Computational Linguistics (MT21 and Faculty of Arts), just take the Maria-Theresiastraat, our buildings are to be found just before the crossing with the Blijde Inkomststraat. (The Maria-Theresiastraat is the street just inbetween the Bondgenotenlaan and the Tiensevest).
This small map was taken out of a larger map of Leuven.

Registration

Registration (8.45 - 9.30) will take place in the main building of the Faculty of Arts ("Erasmusgebouw"), Blijde-Inkomststraat 21.
