Time Span: 1990 - 1993
Commission of the European Communities (Comett)

DECIDE is a Comett project aiming at the development of two series of courses. The first one is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises and offers a training in those aspects of data storing and information processing which are of particular relevance for business. The second series is intended for managers of large enterprises and offers a survey of the latest developments in natural language processing and programming techniques. Both series consist of seven courses which are offered partly as written text and partly as software-packages.

The Leuven CCL contributed to two courses of the second series. One is on Natural Language Processing (in collaboration with the university of Groningen) and the other is on Electronic Dictionaries (in collaboration with the university of Uppsala). Apart from Groningen, Leuven and Uppsala, the project involves four more universities (Toulouse, Limerick, Dublin and London), five companies (Philips, BSO, TWS Software, Nederlandse Gasunie and ARAMIIHS) and nine Dutch agencies for education and employment.
