An Annotation Scheme for Persian Treebank

In this paper we present and justify methodological
principles and syntactic criteria to
build a Treebank for Persian. Annotation approaches
of existing treebanks are also presented
in order to account for taken
decisions. We present the basic guidelines of
syntactic annotation and focus on several
methodological issues concerning the annotation
of Persian language. The resulting
scheme reflects a stratification notion of language,
and makes only minimal assumptions
about the interrelation of the particular representational
strata.
